INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE
"Christian Orient - undiscovered heritage of humanity"
Faculty of Theology of the University of Opole, 9-13 October 2023
About Conference
The international academic conference aims to exchange thoughts and experiences related to the presence of Christians and Christian culture in the space of the wider Orient (Middle East, Far East, South Asia, Egypt, Ethiopia). The conference provides an opportunity for theologians and scholars from other disciplines to reflect on the heritage of the Christian East and its contribution to the global shape of modern civilization. Conference participants are invited to approach the main topic from their research perspective.
During the Conference participants will be also invited to attend an exhibition of eastern icons (see: exhibition catalogue), presentations of books and a concert of Syriac chants. On Thursday, October 12th, the Oriental Library of Prof. Andrzej Zaborski will be opened.
